On the outside, you have it together. You are the person that others depend on, because you get things done. People praise you for always showing up, solving problems, and going the extra mile. You hold a lot together.
On the inside, you are depleted. Like drawing from an empty well. You feel like you’re performing life rather than living it, just stuck going through the motions and desperately wishing for something to pull you out of the fog. Your high motivation and energy have been replaced by exhaustion and numbness. You shame yourself when irritation or resentment arises, because afterall, you care so deeply.
You have made plans, read books, and filled pages with goals to help you “get back on track”, but nothing seems to stick. Each time you make progress, a new stressor pulls you back into old patterns. Self-judgment and doubt creep in as you worry, “Am I even capable of real change?”
